LDN has been at the forefront of conservation work in the UK since the birth of the practice in 1957, carrying out work on prestigious buildings in accordance with the principles of the Venice Charter, The Burra Charter and the British Standard Guide to principles of conservation of historic buildings. The firm is one of the first in Scotland to have members accredited by the RIAS with specialist conservation skills and regularly and consistently works on projects involving Scheduled Monuments and Grade A / Grade 1 Listed buildings of national or international importance.LDN is now rated as one of the top five architects in Scotland and in recent years has won a number of awards in recognition of the high quality of its work including, on several occasions, Europe’s highest honour for conservation; the Europa Nostra Award. Last year its transformation of the Grade I Listed Piece Hall in Halifax won a number of national and regional RIBA and RICS awards and was named UK wide Project of the Year at the Heritage Angel Awards.
