The Boleskine House Foundation SCIO is a registered Scottish Charity. Our primary aims are, (a) to restore and preserve the Boleskine House estate; and (b) to advance the education of the public in the subject of local Scottish history, with particular emphasis on the Boleskine House estate.
As part of our educational initiative that aims to engage a wider audience with heritage, we are producing a series of videos called “Heritage Skills” which features various trades that are part and parcel to our restoration project.
History is a force in nature and heritage the form that it takes. From its connection to the Jacobite rebellion period of the Scottish history to a mysterious tale of esoteric lore, to one of the most famous musicians of all time, Boleskine House has one of the most fascinating stories in the Scottish Highlands.
Boleskine House is perfectly placed as a unique heritage project, drawing from the rich history of the Culloden-era in the Highlands, the contested narratives of Western esotericism, and the more contemporary currents of popular culture.
